The work I do today is the natural culmination of both my professional career and my personal journey.
For nearly 20 years, I have worked in the hospital and healthcare settings, walking alongside people during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. I witnessed resilience, fear, grief, hope, and healing—often all at once. While modern medicine is invaluable, I also began to notice something it doesn’t always address: the deeper emotional, spiritual, and relational layers that shape how people experience illness, recovery, and life itself.
Over time, I encountered many individuals whose symptoms persisted despite thorough medical care and the absence of a clear physiological explanation. These experiences planted important questions for me—about meaning, alignment, unresolved grief, spiritual disconnection, and the ways the body holds what the mind and heart have not yet processed. This curiosity marked a turning point in how I understood healing.
My work expanded beyond the hospital as I teamed up with a partner to co-create what became a busy and popular wellness clinic. I was able to get a taste for what it meant to support individuals seeking a more holistic and integrative approach to wellness. This space allowed me to bridge my medical background with a growing commitment to whole-person care; honoring not only the physical body, but also emotional health, belief systems, identity, and purpose. It is because of this experience I was able to create a new vision I have for patient care within Restoring Roots.
My path has also been shaped by personal journeys outside traditional Western frameworks. Time spent in places like Peru and Mexico, along with immersive training and lived experience in plant-based medicine traditions, deepened my understanding of consciousness, integration, and ethical support. In all honesty, both trips were experiences of perspective—powerful reminders of how little people truly need to be happy.
These places taught me to slow down and be present, and they echoed the message of one of my favorite books, The Alchemist: to listen inward, trust the journey, and tend thoughtfully to the environments we move through. I was reminded that meaning isn’t found in accumulation or urgency, but in simplicity, connection, and presence.
That lesson—slowing down, listening deeply, and tending to the environments we inhabit—became a guiding thread in my work. I began to see how often people are disconnected not because they are broken, but because they have lost touch with their inner rhythm, values, and sense of rootedness. Creating space for presence, reflection, and intentional care became central to how I support others.
Restoring Roots grew from this understanding. It is an offering shaped by years of healthcare experience, integrative wellness work, and personal exploration—designed to help individuals reconnect with themselves, make meaning of their experiences, and cultivate environments within their lives that feel grounded, supportive, and alive.
